Description
The 1914 Star awarded to Private, later, Corporal William Robert Hussey 1st and 6th Battalion’s Dorset Regiment who had previously served in South Africa, landed in France with the 1st Battalion Dorsets on the 23rd of October 1914 and almost exactly 4 years later was Killed in Action on the 11th of October 1918, 31 days before the Armistice, leaving a Widow and five children, comprising, 1914 Star, (3-7889 Pte. W.R. Hussey. Dorset: R.), very fine (1)
Admitted 14th Field Ambulance in November 1914 with a hydrocele
William Robert Hussey was the son of John and Rose Hussey of 3, Sunnybank, North Allington, husband of Sarah Hussey of 5 Dublin Passage, West Allington, Bridport, Dorset. His body was not located after the War, and he is commemorated on Panel 7 of the Vis-en-Artois Memorial.
