The 1914 Star awarded to John Carrigan who landed in France with the 1st Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment and who had both his feet amputated due to trench Foot in October 1917, comprising, 1914 Star, copy Aug-Nov clasp, (7358 Pte J. Carrigan. 1/W. York: R.), very fine (1)
John Carrigan was a 21-year-old Labourer from York when he attested for the West Yorkshire Regiment on the 6th of January 1914. He served in France from the 8th of September 1914, he is shown as being listed on the 31st Ambulance Train Admissions Register for Oct 1917 which shows trench feet - Both feet amputated. He was Discharged with Silver War Badge No B53388 on the 3rd of December 1918.
