Description
The 1914 Star awarded to Private George Henry Green Taylor, 2nd Battalion the Wiltshire Regiment who was Killed in Action on the 9th of April 1917 in the Battalion attack at Neuville St Vaast during an attack on the Hindenburg line in which the Battalion lost 2 Captains, 12 Subalterns and 328 Other Ranks, comprising, 1914 Star, (3-9713 Pte G.H.G. Taylor. 2/Wilts: R.), very fine (1)
Private Taylor landed in France with the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment on the 7th of October 1914, he was Killed in Action on the 9th of April 1917 he was the brother of Mr. W.T. Taylor of 36, Archer Road, Eastleigh, Hants, he was 24 years old. He is buried in Plot D Row 5 of the Neuville-Vitasse Road Cemetery.
