The sale commences with a selection of Great Britain including a lovely example of the 1841 Postal Notice, most unusually with its original envelope, then a small but splendid range of line engraved including a remarkable pair of ‘May date’ mourning covers from a recently discovered correspondence, respectively bearing an 1840 1d black and 2d blue. Other highlights include a mint 1867-80 2s brown, a choice used example of the 1867-83 £5 orange and two iconic missing colour errors, namely the 1963 Post Office Tower 3d with missing tower and 1966 British Technology 6d with missing ‘Minis’. Collections and Ranges follows with many intact properties including a remarkably fine pair of original SG Imperial albums containing a valuable range of stamps.

British Commonwealth material encompasses our usual range of carefully-described single items and sets, with some nice postal history and single-country collections. Highlights include a splendid range of Falklands and Dependencies from Dr Arnold Brickman's collection, particularly strong in the Centenary issue, especially used, and Falklands used in the Dependencies. As is to be expected from Dr Brickman, the quality is stellar. This section of the sale comprises 93 lots, mainly in choice quality. The Queen Victoria has a couple of nice Specimen groups and the King Edward VII has a 5s block, unusually cancelled using brown ink. The KGV is more extensive with some fine multiples including the 1914 £1 in a mint corner block, and a good group of the 1933 Centenary issue including a Specimen set, the good 5s shade used on piece and the 1d 'thick serif' and 1½d 'break in cloud' plate varieties. The KGVI has an unmounted block of the 5s 'indigo' in outstanding condition. The Dependencies has a very fine selection of high value Falklands used at the Dependency post offices, including a 5s Centenary on an OHMS envelope used at South Georgia, addressed to RRS Discovery. Collectors wishing to add choice items to their collections will not be disappointed by the quality on offer.

India features unusual material with a good section of 1854 reprints; KUT includes a mint 1922 £50; Straits Settlements has one of the absolute pinnacles of Malayan philately, the 1892 3c on 32c irregular interpanneau block of three with the surcharge omitted on the upper stamp, and another fabulous rarity with the 1906 4c on 18c Labuan block with double surcharge on two, one of which uniquely has the line through 'B'.

Our European and Foreign offering is unusually strong, featuring Albania with fine Double-headed Eagles and early 20th century postal history, Brazil, China including an 1878 Large Dragon 5ca mint block of 15, and fine Croatia with a Minister Book and many other proofs plus 1942 Croat Legion in Russia card used, German Occupation of Ukraine 1942 Alexanderstadt cover, and Greece including Large Hermes Heads, 1896 Olympics, 1927 Academy of Sciences 5d with inverted centre used plus many other varieties and fine collections. Italy includes the unissued 1941 Hitler & Mussolini set of three on registered cover plus the unique usage of the 10c value on a commercial cover, as well as useful Fiume, post offices abroad and colonies with fine Libya.

We hope to welcome many clients to viewing and on the sale days, which take place across two days on 20th and 21st July 2026
