POSTAL HISTORY: 1897 large envelope, registered, addressed to "Surgeon Lt Colonel A T Sloggett/AMS/Senior Medical Officer/Military Hospital/Alexandria", franked with 1897 Egypt stamps overprinted 'SOUDAN' 3m (92), all cancelled by 'HALFA/16 IX 97/TI2 datestamps, several boxed 'AR' handstamps over stamps, the reverse with Alexandria (21.9) arrival cds.
