POSTAL HISTORY: 1897 long envelope addressed to "Surgeon Lt Colonel A T Sloggett, A.M.S./Senior Medical Officer/Military Hospital/Alexandria", franked with 1897 Egypt stamps overprinted 'SOUDAN' 3m (8, four on the reverse) and 1p (22), all cancelled by 'WADI HALFA/15 IX 97/TI2 datestamps, boxed 'AR' handstamps overlapping one stamp, the reverse with Alexandria (21.9) arrival cds.
