POSTAL HISTORY: 1896 stampless 'Dongola Expedition Force' envelope to Kent endorsed 'active service/ no stamps obtainable', countersigned at bottom left, cancelled 'Wadi-Halfa Camp' cds for 4 AUG 96, with boxed 'T' and taxed with '2½/ f.b.' handstamp on arrival in England, backstamped by Langton and Tunbridge Wells High St.BO. arrival marks, some wear, scarce.
