Description
The Queen’s South Africa Medal awarded to Drummer Calvin Skinley 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards who also saw Service in France During the Great War comprising, Queen’s South Africa Medal, 2nd type, ghost dates, 6 clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast, (1437 Dmr. C. Skinley, Gren. Gds.) toned very fine (1)
Riveting to clasps is as should be, however Medal Rolls confirm Wittebergen, Cape Colony and South Africa 1901. Medal Index card states the Private Calvin Skinley landed in France with the Grenadier Guards on the 8th of October 1915 and is entitled to a 1914-15 Trio he ended the War with the Royal Defence Corps being demobilised on the 14th of march 1919.
