9d Dull green. Envelope sent from London to Melbourne, Australia bearing a vertical pair of 9d dull green (SG195) tied by London W.C.3. duplexes for NO.12.1896. Faded appearance and folded corner perforation. One of the rarest of all Queen Victoria Surface Printed issues on cover. It was intended for use in the parcel post service and at the time no 9d letter rate existed. Believed to be the only recorded multiple of this issue on cover. SG195, Spec. K25. Cat £4,750 as a single on cover.
