From the forerunners and pre-stamp embossed issues of early Straits Settlements all the way through to the post-independence issues of Malaysia, the collection is as complete and comprehensive as it is spectacular.Meticulously assembled by the vendor over decades, it includes archival material, proofs, essays and colour trials that have never before appeared at auction - with much of it acquired privately, 'off-market', as well as added to through every major auction of the subject during this time.The results are outstanding, and include the high values of the independent states, which rank amongst the most beautiful revenue stamps ever issued; a multitude of the iconic and always popular 'Leaping Tiger' and 'Elephant' designs; and, for the purist, the local overprints, which were printed on demand and of which only a handful of each survives.
