1944 Notable registered cover with interesting attributes on many levels, block of four 10s KGVI issues cancelled by Georgetown cds (24 MR 1944), examined in Jamaica by censors (L6a label D./8826) and possibly by Barclays Bank (handstamp on reverse), due to the high franking - (high value stamps were possible substitutes for evading exchange controls). Addressed to Funchal, Madeira; it was routed via Trinidad and Lisbon where it was also censored (tape to right), arriving in Madeira on 29 MY 1944, a rare wartime routeing
