DISASTER MAIL: 1955 postcard from Kentucky USA to Ireland, carried aboard the ''M.V. Britannic'' which suffered a fire in the No. 4 hold amongst the baggage and mail causing serious damage, bearing ''DAMAGED BY FIRE AND SEA WATER ON SS. Brittanic'' cachet in violet with infamous vessel name misspelt and 'FIRE' omitted as it was printed over the adhesive which has floated off, scarce.
