POSTAL HISTORY: 1849 entire letter addressed to Petersburg, Virginia franked by 1d red-brown and 1s green (Die 1), with touching to good margins, tied by Liverpool '466' numeral cancel, with 'Paid Ship' and '5 Cents' arrival h/s marks in red at left, backstamped by Liverpool d/s for JY 14 1849, central filing fold, still a very neat and attractive item.
