ROYALTY: 1853 (14 March) stampless mourning envelope with contents (in German including a transcription in English) written by Victoria, Duchess of Kent (Queen Victoria's mother) from Clarence House to 'Le Comte de Mensdorf Pouilly, Bokowitz, Moravia in her usual blue ink, the front bearing in black 'St. James' St.' straight-line hs, in red 'P' in oval, 'PAID ALL' cds and 'Aacchen' double-ring ds, the reverse with various transit cancels and Boskowiz arrival; the monogrammed letter with interesting contents concerning Alexander, Leissner, Lord Alexander (Prime Minister), Aunt Tony, her grandson (Eduard) and Victoria.
