Nyasaland-Rhodesia Field Force.  1916 (18 Sep) envelope from Brigadier-General Northey (with his signature, date and 'New Langenburg' at lower left) to Blantyre, bearing Nyasaland ½d overprinted NF, FPO 1 CDS.  Backstamped Zomba and Blantyre.  Repaired tear at top, faint foxing, backflap missing.  Offered together with a note almost certainly enclosed in the envelope describing the set of NF overprints enclosed for charity purposes, and explaining that NF should have read NFF; an important item since it establishes Northey's conception and promotion of the issue.
