Postal Stationery.  1893 4d registered envelope (H&G 8, size H2) used to New York in 1902, sent by Dr Maclennan, who was the Royal Physician at the time.  Uprated with 2½d black and blue, outward cancel indistinct but the envelope unclaimed and the reverse with a selection of markings, including US and NZ Dead Letter Offices.  Overall grubby appearance and the backflap is barely hanging on, but a characterful and rather scarce item
