Description
1938-51 KGVI printings study collection contained in an album, well written up with noted major and minor plate flaws with ½d emerald, shaved ‘N’ islands flaw, damaged letters, 1d with good array of shades (many not listed in Part I), 1d scarlet ‘DI’ Crown flaw (x3, two in pairs with normal and one in block of six) SG 99a cat £120 each), and same flaw seen on the later 1d blue-green (SG 100a cat £150) accompanied by matching block with the flaw corrected, 1½d with plate blocks, 2d with plate blocks and study of the plate flaws from the left pane with dented value tablets and letters, 2½d, 3d, 6d and 1s represented, with paper types and blocks, on 1s black on emerald and 1s grey and black on emerald, 2s reddish purple and blue on blue in blocks of 4 and 5s green & red on yellow, generally fine condition. An interesting lot for the enthusiast.
