Very fine envelope sent from Exeter to Seetapore, India bearing three 1d rose-red (SG40, PL.39) and a 9d Bistre (SG86) all four stamps neatly tied by crisp black Exeter "285" duplexes for MR 2 1862. Additionally endorsed in manuscript at top left "Via Marseilles". Backstamped by a London transit cds for MR 3 1862, a Bombay transit cds for MR 27 1862, and a Seetapore arrival cds for AP 3 1862. Slight corner fault at bottom right of 9d, nevertheless an extremely attractive overseas destination cover. Cat £1200.</p>
