1872 British Post Offices abroad. Superb three colour franking from Guayaquil, Ecuador to Barcelona via the British packet agency. The 2s5d rate prepaid with a 1d Rose red Pl.140, 4d Vermilion Pl.12 and a 2s Dull blue Pl.1, all neatly cancelled by crisp Guayaquil 'C41' numerals. Routed via Panama and London with datestamps on obverse for FE.20.1872 and MR.14.1872 respectively, backstamped with a Guayaquil departure cds for FE.12.1872. A very attractive and rare three colour franking from the Puig correspondence.
