1856 4d Carmine (Ordinary white paper, specially prepared ink, Wmk. Medium Garter). An exceptionally fine and fresh unused o.g. top right hand corner marginal left hand wing margin block of twenty four overprinted "SPECIMEN" type 4, showing part sheet inscription "POSTAGE FOUR PENCE.". Minute staple hole at top left of the first stamp nevertheless a remarkable exhibition showpiece, Robert Galland and Karl Louis record this as the largest multiple in existance. Rare. Spec.
