1856 4d Carmine on thin ordinary white paper (Wmk. Medium Garter Inverted). A stunning unused o.g. block of four. Believed to be the largest surviving watermark inverted multiple in private hands. Light gum wrinkles and a couple minor tone spots, nevertheless a spectacular multiple of this rare watermark variety and a spectacular showpiece of the surface printed era. Spec. J49c Ex. "Verus".
