1858 Overseas mail. Very fine cover to Berlin prepaid at the 8d per ¼oz rate for mail routed via Ostend, prepaid by eight 1d rose-red Pl.52, seven tied by Manchester '498' type E3 spoons for AP.15.1858. The eighth stamp placed on reverse and missed in Manchester but cancelled by a superb red London cds in transit for the 16th. Aachen transit cds on front additionally tying stamps for the 17th. Very attractive and a most unusual cover.
