<p>Postal Stationery. 1917 (8 JUN) 1d red “Admiral” envelope (136 x 80mm - with embossed imprint), used from Fort Roseberry to South Africa (re-addressed on arrival) and uprated with 1910-13 “Double Head” ½d olive-green, tied by mainly fine strikes of FORT ROSEBERRY / N. RHODESIA cds, with Irene arrival cds (22 JUN) below, and backstamped with Broken Hill transit cds (18 JUN). Minor toning hardly detracts from this unusual and very scarce usage. Ex Uria (Spink 11 July 2012, lot 37).</p>
