1861-69 group of five covers including; 1861 cover to Ireland franked by 4a grey-black tied by B-1 octagon type 7 mark, 1863 cover from Madras to Bombay franked by 2a yellow-buff tied by type 9 duplex and forwarding cachet, backstamped by ‘Too Late’ scroll h/s in red and further despatch mark and arrival cds in red, most attractive, 1868 cover from Madras to Edinburgh endorsed ‘Via Bombay & Marseilles’ franked by 6a8p rate by 1860 8p, 1865 2a orange and 1866 4a die (I), tied by fined individual strikes of type 12a ‘2’ numeral mark, a Suburban P.O. cancel, with crescent India Paid mark in red along side, backstamped by scalloped square S.P.O No.2/Madras despatch d/s in red and Edinburgh arrival for AP 13, 8p sadly with missing corner (though not instantly apparent) 1868 cover from 'Camp Moorapoor' to Kent franked by 2a orange horizontal strip of three (opened for display) and 1869 mourning envelope from Allahabad to London franked by 1865 8p mauve and 8a carmine Die I, tied by Allahabad type 9iii duplex, fair to fine condition, an interesting and attractive group.
