Hired Horse Duty, Mileage Tickets. 1779 2 Horses and 1821 1 Horse tickets both in black, accompanied by a scarce 1834 North Leith Toll ticket for a horse-drawn carriage above 30cwt to the Pit Street stage and a list of all the stages. A 1824 newspaper cutting advertising an auction of Tolls to Let for a turnpike-road from Tadcaster Bridge to Hob-Moor Lane End in York is also included. (The farming-out of tolls to the highest bidder was usual practice at that time.) &nbsp;Booth 54A
