Proofs of the first design with the crown on a scalloped background are followed by proofs of the modified design 'C', with the crown on a white background (98 complete proofs and 45 value proofs, some bicoloured). The final page features 15 additional complete proofs of the stamps, in three colours with multiple contribution overprints. Each complete proof, and proof of the frame, is handstamped 'CANCELLED' in red. An impressive assembly on 7 sheets from the volume presented to the Royal Mint Engraver H.A. Richardson on his retirement
