1851 3d orange-vermilion 'Beaver' on laid paper, good to (mostly) very large margins (traces of three adjoining stamps), very lightly cancelled by large part 'target' which barely obtrudes on the design and leaves the beaver fully visible. Tiny scissor cut in top margin (not mentioned by clear 1975 BPA cert), still a very attractive example of Canada's first stamp, and far above average. (cat £1100)
