1904-12 pair of novelty postcards franked by ½d and tied by Croydon cds for DE 30 and Cheltenham machine cancel for JUL 13, both with opening flaps attached obscurring a hanged cat and a romantic image and thus both struck wiht ‘1d’ charge marks with the former bearing an additional ‘Contrary to Regulations’ mark and the latter ‘Liable to Letter Rate’.
