The Outstanding Small Army Gold Medal, and Bar, Gold C.B., Order of St Anne, Waterloo Group of 5 awarded to Brevet Lieutenant Colonel Colin Campbell who Commanded the 3rd Battalion 1st Foot or Royal Scots at the Battles of Salamanca, where he received the Small Army Gold Medal and Vittoria, where he was Seriously Wounded and received the Bar to his Small Army Gold Medal. He was also present at the attack and retreat from Bruges. He commanded the 3rd Battalion at Quatre Bras on the 16th of June 1815 and was in Command, until Seriously wounded, of the 3rd Battalion at Waterloo on the 18th. For His actions at Waterloo, he was mentioned in London Wellington’s List of those Officer who had been awarded by His Majesty the Emperor of Russia the 2nd Class Order of St Anne. And awarded the Companion of the Bath by the Prince Regent in September 1815 comprising. Companion of the Bath (Military), Hallmarked Gold date letter “r” for 1815 makers mark (I.E) Field Officer Small Army Gold Medal for Salamanca, with Bar for Vittoria, (Major Colin Campbell), Imperial Russia, Second Class St Anne, unnamed as issued, 14 Carat Gold, Damage to enamel and centre motif loss of detail, Waterloo Medal, 1815, (Major C. Campbell, 3rd.Bat. 1st Foot. Or R. Scots.) original clip and ring officially impressed, another Waterloo Medal 1815, (Lt Col Campbell, 1st or Royal Scots), original clip and ring engraved naming, with Royal Scots Gold Badge affixed to ribbon, this from the scabbard of the Waterloo Presentation Sword (See Lot XXXX) housed in a fitted glazed case, fine and better (5)

Colin Campbell - Major in 1st Foot 27 September 1809 (on transfer from 46th Foot); served in the Peninsula April 1812 to September 1813; brevet Lieutenant-Colonel 17 August 1812; served at Castalla, Salamanca, Burgos, Villamur, Osma, Vittoria (where he was severely wounded); commanded the 3/1st Foot in 1813/1814 and at Quatre Bras and Waterloo (again severely wounded); serving in the 9th Brigade.—Major-Gen. Sir Denis Pack, K.C.B. He died in 1833.
