The Queen’s South Africa Medal awarded to Trooper Charles Cuthbert Stanley Heinke, 77th Company, 8th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry Who Died of enteric fever (typhoid) at 29 Stationary Hospital, Heilbron, Orange River Colony on the 26th of February 1901. He was buried the same day comprising, Queen’s South Africa Medal, 1899-1902, 3rdt type, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, (15837 Tpr: C.C.S. Heinke, 77th Coy8th Imp. Yeo:), impressed naming very fine (1)
Charles Cuthbert Stanley Heinke, an Insurance Clerk from Twickenham, enlisted into the Imperial yeomanry on the 19th of March 1900, he served in South Africa from the 14th of April 1900, he was reported as Dangerously Ill with Enteric Feaver whilst at Heilbron on the 24th of February 1901 he Died two days later on the 26th of February and it is noted that he was buried the same day.
