Description
A Sherwood Foresters Casualty Pair awarded to Private Jack Tatham 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment) who was Gassed on the 15th of August 1918, all of “D” Company were casualties and most of “B” Company during a 3-hour gas bombardment comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (116007 Pte. J. Tatham. Notts. & Derby. R.), very fine (2)
Jack Tatham born 1893, attested 1916, mostly likely conscripted as he was a Coal Miner by Trade, Mobilised 18th April 1918, Gassed 15th of August 1918 during a three hour gas bombardment from the enemy which resulted in casualties to the Battalion of 13 Officers, 423 ORs, including all of “D” “B” Coy. Discharged with Silver War Badge No. B83468 – Wounded – Gas Poisoning 18th of January 1919. Jack Died in 1971.
