Manchester, John Fielding Halfpenny 1792, Grocers’ Arms and supporters, rev. East India Co.’s bale mark, edge plain, 29mm/10.41gm. (DH 130). Another, but unlisted variety – obv of DH 130 and rev. of DH 128 with V touching point, 29mm/10.19gm. (DH 130var). Another similar but date figures closer together, 29.5mm/8.15gm. (DH 131). Another similar but minor spacing differences 28.5mm/9.15gm. (DH 132). Another similar minor spacing differences, 29mm/8.56gm. (DH 134), all generally Extremely Fine or better all with small degrees of original lustre, DH 130var unrecorded, DH 134 with rev die flaw, scarce. [5]
DH 130 and 132 ex F S Cokayne Col., his tickets, bought 1 Oct 1906 for 6d. and 17 Jan 1912 from the Richard Dalton Col. for 1/-. Acquired AHB c. 1946. Last ex Baldwin’s basement Feb 2018.
