Description
Worcester, Visit of George III silvered medalet Farthing 1789, bust right of George III with C.I below bust,
rev. crown over musical instruments on pedestal, edge scalloped, 21.75mm/2.51gm. (DH 42). Another
the same but gilded – plus ‘punched’ initials under bust, 22mm/2.69gm. (DH 42 bis). Another not quite
the same and silvered, 21.5mm/2.30gm. (DH 43). Another the same but gilded, 22.25mm/2.77gm. (DH
43). Another similar but IH &Co under bust and silvered 22mm/2.78gm. (DH 44). Another but WA&Co
below bust and rev. a crowned shield with 4-line legend, 21mm/2.63gm. (DH 45 bis 1), DH 42, 43bis and
43 good Extremely Fine with lustre – rest generally Extremely Fine with some lustre and rubbing of silvering on
high points. All scarce to rare. [6]
