Gold Memorial Scroll commemorating Private William Pegden Royal Marine Light Infantry, Divisional Engineers Royal Naval Division who had seen active service in Gallipoli and been invalided home and was finally Killed in Action on the last Day of the Battle of the Somme, the 13th of November 1916. His epitaph reads: "In Loving Memory of Dear Dad" - he was married to Gertrude Susannah and they had three girls, Angelina, Winifred and Gertrude.
