A Rare Group to the Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve awarded to Senior Reserve Attendant Thomas Glover Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve comprising 1914-15 Star, (M.8829 T. Glover. S.R.A. R.N.), 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, both erased, Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Bert Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, with Bar, GVR, early plain green ribbon, (1570 T. Glover, Sen R.A. R.N.A.S.B.R.), Service Medal of the Order of St John - With two 5 Year Bars (6552 Cpl. T. Glover Hindley Div No 4 Dis. S.J.A.B. 1928.), very fine (5)
The Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve was created in 1903, members being recruited from the St. John Ambulance Brigade.
Thomas Glover was born on the 17th of September 1889 in Wigan Lancashire a Collier by trade when he joined the Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve on the 2nd of August 1914. He served during the Great War until demobilised on the 25th of April 1919, until he was again Mobilised in 1939.
