A Great War Royal Naval Officer Pair awarded to Lieutenant Richard Cowle Royal Navy comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (Lieut. R. Cowle. R.N.), very fine. (2)
Richard Cowle was born on the 4th of April 1856 he joined the Royal Navy on the 4th of April 1874 for a period of 10 years. He was Promoted Gunner on the 21st of October 1886, Chief Gunner on the 15th of October 1907 and Lieutenant on the 18th of March 1911. He was placed on the Retired List on the 4th of April 1911, His Papers then state Lt Retd. Serving Under Canadian Government 19th March 1917 aged 60 years and 11 months Reverts to Retired List December 1918.
