Oliver Cromwell, Halfcrown, 1658, laureate and draped bust left, legend reads HIB, reverse crowned shield, lett ered edge, (Bull 252; ESC 447; S.3227A). Choice practically mint state. Well struck, the graining on Cromwell’s collar particularly pleasing. Exquisite purple/blue toning in the legends and devices. Fields proof like and surely one of the fi nest examples available for commerce.
Comparable to the example that sold in an Australian Auction in 2022 for 19,500 AUD.
