Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms within garter, FID DEF IND IMP outer legend, inner legend , inner legend reads HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, below denomination HALF-CROWN and date, (S.3980; Bull; 3569/70; ESC.748/49). Both fi ne, the 1903 marginally stronger – the rarer dates in the series for the Halfcrowns with the exception of the 1905 (2)
