Description
In original box of issue, by W. and L. C. Wyon. Conjoined busts of Albert and Victoria left, dolphins below, rev. Britannia seated left, crowning the kneeling allegory of Industry, before personifications of the four continents (Africa, America, Asia, Europe), DISSOCIATA LOCIS CONCORDI PACE LIGAVIT. Edge, incusely - PRIZE MEDAL OF THE EXHIBITION CLASS II, 76mm., 287.03 (BHM-2462; Hocking-261/3; E 1456,). Good Extremely Fine, good bronze toning with iridescence, although little discoloration on rev. high points and between dolphins. Box a little dog-eared but basically sound.
