Laureate bust right with sharp truncation with countermark '7' below, reads from bottom left of coin GEORGIUS DEI GRATIA REX•, stop after X, no stop after date. Rev, crowned rose with seventeen pellets in centre, ROSA AMERICANA 1723 above, '7' countermark either side of crown, below UTILE DULCE in semi-circular compartment, 7.89g (Breen 121; Nelson 15; Martin p348 for countermark). Darkly toned with some flashes of the underlying mint lustre, interesting with the countermarks. Portrait proficiently struck with clear legends both sides. Some light contact marks otherwise a good very fine, rare.
