Description
Anglo‑Saxon (c. AD 750‑1000) Strapend, copper‑alloy (56x13mm, 8.53g). A complete Anglo‑Saxon copper‑alloy strapend, with decoration of interlaced patterning and zoomorphic end. Two rivets for fastening are still present at the split‑end. Back is plain. (Thomas Class A, Type 1 var.). Excellent condition with substantial detail apparent. Pleasing, dark patina.
