Germany, Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel-Lüneburg, August II the Younger (1635‑1666), silver Double Taler, 1666 IPE, minted later c. 1672‑1675, Zellerfeld, mint master: Julius Philipp Eisendraht, commemorating 88th birthday of August the Younger, depicting the Duke being crowned with a laurel wreath by an angel, another angel to right with a trumpet. Rev. Arms of Brunswick surrounded by fourteen crowned coats of arms, 57.52g (KM 482; Welt. 785; Dav. 87). Extremely Fine, lots of original lustre, without value hallmark. Struck after the death of August II the Younger by Julius Philipp Eisendraht who worked under Rudolph August in Zellerfeld.
