Using The New SGB Website

We're pleased to bring you a new auction website with enhanced security and features that help you find the information you need quicker and more easily. A few things have changed in addition to the aesthetics, including how you log into your account.

Logging in

We’ve moved to a passwordless sign-in for stronger security and a smoother experience. Instead of typing a password, you’ll receive a one-time “magic link” by email each time you log in.

Why this is more secure

No password to steal or reuse: Attackers can’t guess, phish, or leak a password that doesn’t exist here.
One-time, time-limited link: Each link is unique, works once, and expires after a short period.
Email ownership as the key: Only someone with access to your email inbox can sign in.

Does this mean my old password isn’t protected?
Your previous website password is no longer used nor been stored for logging in to the new platform.

How to log in with a magic link

Select Log In at the top-right of any page.
Enter the email address you use for your SGB auction account and click Log In.
Check your inbox (and junk/spam) for an email from auctions@sgbaldwins.com and click the Log in button/link.
You’ll be signed in immediately.

You can also sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook. If you choose one of these, make sure the account you pick uses the same email address as your SGB auction account.

If you don’t receive the email

Give it a minute and refresh your inbox.
Check spam/junk and any “Other” or “Focused” email tabs.
Add auctions@sgbaldwins.com to your safe senders/allow list.
If you have multiple email addresses, confirm you entered the one linked to your SGB account.
If the link says it’s expired, just start over to get a fresh one.

Staying safe with magic links

Only click links you requested. If you didn’t try to sign in and receive one, ignore it.
Never forward your magic link—anyone with that link could use it once.
Keep your email account protected with a strong, unique password and (ideally) two-factor authentication.

Global Search, Lot Alerts, and finding what you need faster

As well as the search function and filters on the auction page, you can now use our 'Global Search'.

How to find Global Search - Click the magnifying glass in the top-right to search across all auctions at once.

Search for specific lots - Narrow results with the filter function on any auction page by category, estimate, and more.

Lot Alerts - In 'My Account' Set alerts for terms like “Julius Caesar” or “Penny Black”. We’ll email you automatically when matching lots appear in titles or descriptions.
