Description

This exceptional Stamps & Covers of Great Britain auction features a wide range of material that will undoubtedly appeal to most collectors. Throughout the auction, you'll discover strong collecting areas and individual philatelic gems that are not to be missed. Highlights include a compelling selection of Mulready's and caricatures, with the Hume, Spooner, and Southgate caricatures being particularly enticing. The Line Engraved section is especially impressive, showcasing standout pieces such as a DP19a small trial sheet in blue-black, an unused block of ‘VR’ Officials, and a striking Hayle red MC on a 1d 'black' plate. The Surface Printed section is filled with intriguing lots, with a particularly strong focus on the high values - including proofs, colour trials, imprimaturs, and both mint and used examples of most values. Towards the end of the sale, there are some fascinating QEII pieces available, including the visually striking 1966 British Birds block of four with four colours omitted, creating an impressive error. Many other remarkable and noteworthy lots are available in this auction, which will undoubtedly enhance your collection!
