This lot includes: X-Men #137 the iconic cover art by John Byrne and part 9 of The Dark Phoenix Saga with the death of Jean Grey, #138 Cyclops leaves the X-Men, #139 Debut of new brown and tan Wolverine costume, Kitty Pryde joins X-Men as Sprite and 1st appearance of Heather Hudson, X-Men #140 Alpha Flight disbands until Apha Fight #1 (1983), and #143 marking the final collaboration of Chris Claremont and John Byrne that began in X-Men #108.
Grades: X-Men #137: 6.0/Fine. Some spine lines that break colour, dent to the top left corner and line at bottom of front cover. Light stain to back cover and off-white pages.
X-Men #138: 6.0/F. Damage to top and bottom left corner, multiple spine lines that break colour, thee chips to top left corner of back cover and slight staining.
X-Men #139: 7.5/VF-. Minor damage to corners, spine stress lines that break colour, minor staining to back cover and off-white pages.
