1909 1p turquoise-blue, perf 11 on wove paper, with manuscript surcharge '½a', part o.g. with hinge remainder, toned.  SG 16 var.; Scott 12 var.  
  
The vendor believes that only one sheet of 64 (8x8) was surcharged by the postmaster.  This stamp is offered on its merits and is sold 'as is', due to the difficulties of authentication.
