1945 (16.1) 4c stationery card to Penang, cancelled at a remarkable FOUR stations on the infamous Burma Railway spanning most of the line, the first cds ‘PURUNKASHI’ (1.16), ‘KONKOITA’ (27.1), ‘KANCHANABURI’ (6.2), ‘and ‘NIKKI’ (15.2), comprising four of the eight post offices set up for the line to provide mail services for the indentured civilian workers. Reposted after the war with Kanji opts on Selangor and a couple of worm holes, still an extraordinary historical record of the highest rarity.
