KGV ½d imperforate printer's sample in purple and red on chalk-surfaced paper, opt 'SPECIMEN' (type DS1), a very fine block of 4 affixed to piece of brown card (46 x 59mm) from a sample book, with printed number '149' below. Attractive and rare thus, with BPA cert (1988). Ex 'Staircase' (Spink 4/1999).
