1886-98 1d Lilac, unofficial overprints on cover. Two envelopes both bearing a 1d Lilac (Die II, 16 dot) examples with overprints, the first bearing a black “THOMAS OGDEN/LIVERPOOL” overprint and the second example with a red “THE/LIVERPOOL/PRINTING AND/STATIONARY CO/ LIMITED”. Both possible receipt stamps used for postage. Scarce and unusual.
