1879 Overseas Mail. Envelope sent from London to Budapest franked with the sheet selvedge “2½d” printed in Rosy-mauve (SG138-141) tied by a London E.C. cds for AP.17.1879. Selvedge cancelled in manuscript and postage due charged upon arrival. Envelope ripped and re-joined at left from rough opening. A spectacular attempt at postal fraud.
